Jennifer Forakis is Director of HoOP architecture and a registered and Chartered Architect.

She has been practising in London, Berkshire and beyond for over 15 years during which time she has been responsible for many beautiful and acclaimed projects. Particularly interested in considering buildings in their context and with an eye-for-detail she runs our small energetic practice enabling fellow consultants, contractors and ambitious clients to implement ideas to the highest standard.  

Jennifer strongly believes in the power of the team; client, professionals and contractors working together. As a result she has established long-standing professional relationships with industry experts including respected landscape architects, engineers and contractors. 

With collaboration in-mind Jennifer nurtures a working relationship with every client and each project receives her expert attention from beginning-to-end resulting in consistently good value, great work.

Jennifer believes in the integration of practice-in-education and education-in-practice. In parallel with ongoing practice-based research she enjoys teaching the next generation of architects, is currently a Design Studio Tutor and Lecturer at the University of Reading alongside working on the COMPF Movement & Public Realm Strategy for Oxford, being undertaken in partnership between Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council. Jen is also a visiting lecturer/ critic/ examiner at a number of universities in the UK and developing a new ‘Spring School’ community, People and Place Sykourio.

Until recently a Trustee and Councillor of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Chair of RIBA Berkshire Society of Architects, Vice Chair of the Reading Design Review Panel and Practice Mentor for the Royal College of Art Jen is described as a 'silo buster' and 'cross pollinator', has been an active board member of Constructing Excellence Berkshire, on the RIBA Small Practice Advisory Group and is a RIBA Guerrilla Tactics Steering Group, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and supports  Hackney Pirates and Maggies amongst others.
